I'm Hwajung Hong, an assistant professor in the School of Design and Human Engineering at UNIST in Korea. I joined the UNIST faculty in 2015 after finishing a PhD in Human-Centered Computing at Georgia Tech with Dr. Gregory Abowd and Dr. Rosa Arriaga. I have also worked on UX design and research to tackle real-world problems at Palo Alto Research Center, Microsoft Research, LG, and Motorola.

I'm interested in design and social computing with a focus on healthcare and accessibility. I have published on this in leading conferences like ACM CHI, ASSETS, CSCW and Pervasive Health. The DxD (data, interaction, design) lab focuses on designing systems that empower individuals and crowds toward creativity and connectivity. I like theories, mixed methods, DIY tools, and a green tea frappuccino with a shot of espresso.
